IG Lintels is delighted to announce that its Hi-therm Sustainability Lintel has been shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Best Building Fabric Product’ at the House Builder Product Awards 2014.
The Hi-Therm Sustainability Lintel is 500% more thermally efficient than a comparable steel lintel. The unique patented design incorporating steel and glass-reinforced plastic means that, when used to support the cavity wall construction, it significantly minimises thermal bridging or heat loss through the wall. This impressive lintel has an extremely low thermal conductivity performance, contributing towards its Psi value of 0.05 W/m•K.
Using the Hi-Therm lintel within housing projects therefore provides a low-cost and sustainable solution to CO2 reduction, creating a 3-5% improvement over accredited values on a dwelling emission rate calculation within SAP whilst eliminating the need for a damp-proof course (DPC).
The House Builder Product Awards 2014 will take place at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham on 2nd July.
